NICOLA SAMER

Nicola was born in Sydney, Australia and gained her MA Theatre Directing in London (Middlesex University), which included her training at the Russian Academy of Dramatic Arts, Moscow. Additional training includes, Directing at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts, Australia and working on attachment with the Royal Opera House, London.

She has directed FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (Cambridge Arts Theatre) and was the Children's Director on KES (Liverpool EverymanPlayhouse). Prior to that she was Assistant Director to Jeremy Sams on the No.1 National Tour of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Nicola has recently completed UK tours of ASPECTS OF LOVE and THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK both for director Nikolai Foster as Resident Director. She is a co-founder of The Australian Theatre Festival, UK and its subsidiary PLAY AND A PINT.

This Summer Nicola has been invited by the Lincoln Centre, New York to participate in their 2010 Directors Lab. She is currently in preproduction for FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, which opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London in September.
